I bought a HO Alternator For A 01-03 ACURA EL and it says it fits HONDA Civic 01-04

well i recently bought this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...6744764&rd=1,1

in the page it says it replaces p#A5TA7091 alternator and it also says in the description that it fits all civics from 2001-2004 that has 1.7l engine.

AM I OK?

you should be fine since the EL is just an overpriced civic.

post pics when you're done. i think i'm gonna need a bigger alti when i upgrade to 12s....also, would it require a different belt since the pulley is smaller? or is there enough adjustment with the stock belt to cover it?

if the pulley's different, it should come with a belt. i've read that the alterstart alternators come with a belt and a 4ga power harness.

it fits, it actually fits, i had the shop install it since i didnt have anytime in installing it.

so far the alternator is working well on my end. Im running a Alpine CDA-9883 w/ Kicker ZX850.2 Amp, Two Alpine Type-R 12" subs and let me tell u its great. I have readings from 13.5v and up when bass hits real hard then it goes right back up to 14v depending if the car is idle or reving

Re: I bought a HO Alternator For A 01-03 ACURA EL and it says it fits HONDA Civic 01-

good deal bro. i just looked over that auction and it says:

"A four gauge power output cable is required for proper battery maintenance."

if it didn't come with one, you better buy some 4ga cable and run it quick unless you already have. you'll quickly exceed the capacity of the stock 8ga cable and could create a dangerous situation with the alternator putting out that much.

Ok here is a picture of my alternator rewired.

http://www.indabay.com/rdzlyz/2/170898475525.jpg

i have the stock 8ga and the new 4ga(redwire) on the alternator to the battery. will my car be ok with both of them installed.

and also the 4ga you see a silver metal on it should i tape that because it does get hot right or i dunno.

also heres the wires hooked up on my battery

use heat shrink, not tape. and you don't need the stock wires. you won't exceed the 4ga wires, so just use them.

i don't think it will cause any problems to leave it, but i'm not positive. i don't know what all is in that harness that you may/may not need.

all I did was add the 4ga wire to the alternator and hooked it up on the positive post on the battery. that was it actually
