Rear Sway!!!

got my 19mm rsx rear sway bar today and couldnt resist installing it too. i was debating on whether or not to paint it green; i think it would look bad ass. i got lazy and decided not too and just put it on. here are the pics :)

Enjoy that bar, one of the best upgrades you can do to our cars.

noice....your gonna love it....i already love mine.......

i love it already. i made the mistake of not jacking up my car at all... that sucked pretty bad. crawling under a lowered car is not fun.

Man, I hate not having a rear sway bar.

Re: Rear Sway!!!

lol. get the progress adapter kit and an rsx sway. it shouldnt be too bad :). i've really been in the modding mood lately. i've done HID's, ingall's stiffy, and rsx rear sway within the last two months. look out for sideskirts in the near future

i dont know how u can stand it. i was debating whether i should go to class and install it after, or just skip class an ddo it right when i got it. it was a tough choice but i waited the 75 minutes and installed it after class. i cant imagine waiting since december. i would have just cut the endlinks off and bought new ones from honda after the first half hour.

why would you say that? it should be right. i took off the stock bar and made sure the rsx one was lined up the same before i put it on.

slowwhitecivic 05-26-2007 03:17 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

dont worry thats how mine looks too...

metalviper 05-26-2007 03:26 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

ya..it sticks out a bit. it wont fit if it is installed upside down!

jnlzr 05-27-2007 02:11 AM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

i didnt mean to... i havemy the same way tooo.... i just want to make sure.. cause i get a clunk sound when i go over a bump... so i thought it was upsidedown.... but today i when to the shop to make sure,, they said it fine... hahah my mistake....still dont noe wat the noise is.....

tougEMII 05-27-2007 03:21 AM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

itll fit if its upside down. to me it looks upside down. but i can barely see. usually the curve of the bar should go towarsd the middle of the car. when i say the curvei mean near the ends of the bar.

Rennen 05-27-2007 12:05 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

what are you guys talking about? its not installed upside down. took off the stock rear sway bar, put it on the ground, and lined up the rsx rear sway. they lined up almost exactly the same, so i know it's not upside down. and i'd imagine that there would be some sort of noise or something weird if it were installed wrong, and i've had none.

metalviper 05-27-2007 01:06 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

i know its not duh! lol
cuz it looks just like mine!

HyeHonda05 05-27-2007 01:46 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

mine looks exactly like that too....i actually made the mistake of putting it on backwards at first...but then i realized what I did and quickly changed that......

tougEMII 05-27-2007 02:04 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

this is what i mean by that curve.

http://www.icbmotorsport.com/pics/JDM/dc5r_22mm.jpg

but i guess thats how urs looks like. i cant clarify cuz of the pic u posted

MisterFrankieJ 05-27-2007 02:30 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

^^+1 that's what it should look like. I thought you had it on wrong but its too hard to tell from the pics. If you have clearance between the sway and the lca than you know you have it on right. If it's upside down there's clearance issues.

tougEMII 05-27-2007 03:04 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

^yep and that is what would cause noise...ur bar hitting the lca

Rennen 05-27-2007 04:07 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

theres clearance between them, so i guess im good. there hasnt been any noise either.

it makes life a lot easier.. I have this bar, and the adapter kit for my DX.. I'm just worried about drilling holes in my chassis:( I can't find a DIY anywhere either...

I have the Progress rear sway on my 02 and I wouldn't ever drive the car without at least the RSX one again it makes that much of a difference. Good mod man, enjoy it!

DaddyFatSacks 09-25-2007 06:33 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

That it's, i'm getting one too! I need one for my 01 EX, maybe i'll try a 19 or a 21 out of a 05-06.

DsevenEm2 09-25-2007 08:16 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

ok i give up...i dont even know where to start to take off my old sway.. i see the endlinks..and where it attaches to the rear sway end points... but it looks just like a crooked bolt... theres nothing on the opposite side of the bolt but some smooth ball side with 4 little dots on it. i dont get where everone is saying to put an allen key or hex key or w.e

anyone got a detailed DIY? or something.. i must be just dumb.

speedricerx 09-25-2007 10:18 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

ahh too bad my pics got deleted..

oops nevermind found it
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...5/ecc699cc.jpg

u wanna unscrew that.. but need to stick an allen key in there to prevent it from turning as u unscrew. try not to strip it with the allen key. use alot of lube..

DsevenEm2 09-25-2007 10:21 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

yea ok i figured that but i dont see where i would put the allen key in..am i just stupid? do i stick it in between those 4 dots? sorry if im just being dumb i just never seen somethin liek this be4...thanks for all ur help by the way.. rep available lol

speedricerx 09-25-2007 10:28 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

u see the nut on the right...u put the allen key in the middle of that nut.. and u need a wrench.. if u have a ratcheting wrench its easier.. to unscrew that same nut

Re: Rear Sway!!!

i want one too, does it really make that much of a difference?? id like to have less body roll in corners

DsevenEm2 09-25-2007 11:27 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

HOLY CRAP DUH!!!!! ....now that makes way more sense LOL! i dont have a rachet wrench so just for the hell of it.. could u POSSIBLY please give me the size i might need and i have allen keys..what size did u use for that..and what would be the best thing to lube that stuff up with.. pb blaster?? thanks so much for ur help..

greeen01civic4d 09-25-2007 11:28 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

pb blaster is THE universal lube for stuck bolts, go to walmart and get both sets of allen wrenches for 88c, even comes in a pouch, cant ever have too many tools

speedricerx 09-25-2007 11:29 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

damn i forgot the sizes.. im sure if u search it'll come up. i like pbblaster and liquid wrench

greeen01civic4d 09-25-2007 11:33 PM

Re: Rear Sway!!!

liquid wrench works, but it evaporates too quickly, pb stays around longer and penetrates deeper, kinda like viagra, remember if an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, please consult a physician

the install is pretty straight forward. you do not need to jack up the car for the swap. im lowered on neuspeed sport springs, and i didnt jack it up. good luck :)

Re: Rear Sway!!!

garsh.. i got up this morning and decided to finally put on the bar.. i get down there..its not THAT easy to hold the allen key in place, while loosening up the bolt but i can do it.. its just a pain in the ass.. and then.. out of nowhere.. super storm.. i got poured on.. so i called it quits for a little until it stops and i can go back down there.. im sure itll get done by today.. any easy tips for holding that allen key in place? im working by myself..and im not jacked up.. any ideas to make life easier or should i just get it over with n stop bitching :P
