kezay 12-06-2005 01:54 PM

Yeah I am running the ACT extreme and 6 puck clutch and the ACT prolite flywheel (8.5lbs)

familycar 12-06-2005 01:55 PM

never mind i see act 6 puck and prolite flywheel. i went exedy organic and streetlite flywheel. so it not quite as stouts as yours. but it still winds out pretty quickly right now i can only imagine what its going to feel like after i ahve my work done

zps2004 12-06-2005 10:44 PM

nice man, can't wait to see the results, im thinking of doin the same with mine, i don't need crazy power bc there is our formula car for that and ill prolly get a track car to fix up after college that will be my real power car, can;t wait to see the results, good luck with it.

kimchi29 12-06-2005 10:55 PM

amazing, cant wait to see the numbers

Tomola 12-07-2005 04:39 AM

Yeah good work! Looking forward to more proper vids of like 1st -> 4th pulls. lol :giggle: Dahm it'll be nice when it's all properly tuned :) You should tune it to make max power around 9k, it seems to want to be going there!

We need to see this type of Vid but of your car!

bartizek 12-08-2005 01:56 PM

See who isn't glad that i revived this thread?

Sick car man, I'm glad that someone showed a solid example of what the D17 can do.

kornsined 12-08-2005 03:27 PM

well even though this is a great accomplishment, I still don't think it's worth the money. Good to see what a d17 can do.

gearbox 12-08-2005 09:10 PM

so how much did you spend, and how much hp did you get, and how long will the car drive in this form?

How much did I spend, well over $3000 US dollars, How much HP did I get, I don't know yet (It is being dyno tuned), How long will the car drive in this form, longer than the stock engine probably would have lasted. (because the engine is now more efficient because of it being tuned well and as long as I change oil and thing reguraly then I'm all good) Tha's the advantage of NA power. ;)

That is very correct - If you change you oil every 2k and oil filter every 5k and sparks every 10k you will do 400,000 miles no problem. Even with a Crower Stage 3 cam! And even if you take it on a x-track each weekend. ;) Honda

thats amazing, so why doesnt everyone go N/A?!

gearbox 12-09-2005 09:25 AM

because its cheaper to get more power with a turbo.

kezay 12-09-2005 09:28 AM

My opinion why people don't go the NA route is 1) because it is the more expensive route when compared to turbo.
2.) Everyone loves the sound of a blow off valve
3.) A turbo engine can be built to make plenty more power than a NA engine.
4.) To make power on NA engines takes more skill and knowledge compared to say turbo engines.

gearbox 12-09-2005 09:36 AM

also na is easy to mess up like i did. now i need to tear the engine apart just to put all the stock parts back and have a working car. it does take alot of skill to understand what not to do to this particular engine.

exturbo6 12-22-2005 01:50 PM

whats going on with this car...what is done to this car..i cant find the list of mods to it.....

Can you clarify that "well over" $3000.

AEM standalone is $1700, plus you have a stage 3 cam, pistons/rods? (unsure really), I assume you have headers, exhaust, valvetrain, tuning, clutch/flywheel. Sounds a bit more than $3000

kezay 12-22-2005 08:38 PM

yeah that's what i mean when i say "well over $3000"

Titleist71 12-22-2005 10:51 PM

nice

yourinmyw0rld 12-23-2005 01:29 AM

did you get it tuned yet??

exturbo6 12-23-2005 06:24 AM

can you give a list of mods cause i didnt see one in this thread... and yes did you get this thing tuned and shit yet...its been like 3 weeks since i last asked i think..

kezay 12-23-2005 07:37 AM

Modifications:

Suspension:
Fully Adjustable Tein Coilover Racing Suspension
Polished Neuspeed Front Upper Strut Bar
Energy Suspension Polyurethane Control Arm Bushings

Exterior:
Black TYC Projector headlights
Custom “CROWER” emblem

Engine:
Injen Polished SRI Intake
Crower stage 3 camshaft
Crower Titanium springs
Crower Titanium retainers
AEM 5 Bolt camgear
Crower stainless steel racing valves
CP Forged high compression pistons
2 1\4 inch stainless steel racing exhaust
AEM underdrive pulley kit (blue)
Koyo Racing 36MM Radiator
B&M short shifter kit
K20 injectors (310cc)
ACT Extreme pressure plate
ACT 6 puck copper disc
ACT Prolite flywheel (8.2lbs)
ARP headstuds
AEM standalone engine Management system “30-1030”

Audio:
Pioneer DEH-P9600MP headunit
JBL gto16t 1” tweeters
Pair 6” eminence speakers

I may be forgetting some things but anyways. The car has only been road tuned because it was pinging alot due to the high compression and the stage 3 cam is also a bit difficult to tune. So it too the tuner a while before he could get that under control. I have a vid that I will post later sorry for the delay.
