Re: My first DIM w/ CCFL in trunk! (possibly a future HID retrofit build thread)
Thanks guys! I'll get some pics up for tomorrow and I'll make sure I take pictures on how I was able to raise the projectors higher.

Re: My first DIM w/ CCFL in trunk! (possibly a future HID retrofit build thread)
I finally got the right projector aimed up higher with the washer trick.
Enjoy!

^already cut in half.. and the total cost was about $0.86 total

^Since the projector was already aimed low, I didn't want to mess with the JB weld, so instead, I used the washer to raise up the projector.

^From a distance, you probably won't be able to notice the rubber washer..
and for the actual cutoff pictures

I'll try to get some night shots next time.. I'm lazy lol

lol..
Here are the latest pics!
Up by popular demand.. ahem.. lol

^from more than 30 feet away

^I would say about 10-15 feet???

^ and here is my new fog light.. I'm thinking about retrofitting the set and was wondering which ones will fit the 04-05 fog light housing..
Gearbox, what are the measurements on the blazer projectors you used on your fog light housing?

looks great i bet you can see now lol. mine arent blazers, theyre the bmw aftermarket ones with the trim bezel around it. projector is average size, about 4.5 inch deep and maybe 1.5-2.5 inch wide.

Re: My first DIM w/ CCFL in trunk! (possibly a future HID retrofit build thread)
Thanks, John!
Yeah, seriously. I can see the road a lot more clearly than ever before.
I'm happy with them. Not a lot of color, but I can still see some nice shade of purple
Ok, lol. I'm going to have to measure it right now to look for some nice ones that will fit fine and have good output.
I just measured and it looks like I will only have about 2 inches to work with, width-wise. As for the height, probably about 4 inches or so, but it's hard to tell because the space isn't straight; the inner housing curves so, it'll be hard.
Thanks man! Gotcha!

As for the deepness, I can only work up to 2 inches, but that's max... I think at most, it will be 1.75 inches, or else I will have the projector's rear all out.
Re: My first DIM w/ CCFL in trunk! (possibly a future HID retrofit build thread)
not really that much room to work with..... i guess u would have to have the back of the projector sticking out in back

True.. looks like there's going to be lots of work involved, but I'm willing to take my time into doing it. I'll look into different types of projectors.

very nice! Looks like the $0.87 took you pretty far. I'm actually pretty impressed with the ece e46's.

Bad pics, but you get the point lol

Re: My first DIM w/ CCFL in trunk! (possibly a future HID retrofit build thread)
Okay, so recently, I got into an accident at the DMV (out of all places) and rear ended a Honda CR-V. My car didn't take much damage at all. Basically, I got a few dents on the hood and a whole bunch of scuff marks, but no biggie. My right e46 projector came loose and have been moving around quite a bit, so I decided to start my first HID retrofit with the TSX projectors and FX lenses (terrible) for testing purposes. I will buy a set of clear replica lenses as soon as I can afford it, but for now, I will be taking my sweet time to adjust the rotational alignment and figure out how to secure the projector straight into the housing.
Well, here are some pictures.
I need help with mounting the projectors correctly!! It is very difficult.

^How it should look
I used a power supply to power up the ballast.

*edited for Gearbox!

I WILL be using flat black on the chrome housing soon.
And something I did on my own time a few months ago.
