well guys, i just got koni's installed about a week ago and one of my c-ring's is already bent... i DIY'ed it but i never touched the c-ring when i installed them, all i did was install the perch and pray that i wouldn't have problems like others did but i guess i was wrong... anyways, i'm thinking of getting the c-ring and perch welded onto the strut as suggested in another thread but i have a few questions before trying this...
1. will the heat from the welding affect the dampening capabilities? (like will the oil or gas boil inside)
2. will the heat from the welding cause the strut to explode? (worse case scenario i can think of)
i don't really know what chemicals make up the oil or gas inside so if someone has done this already or knows about whats in the struts please shed some light on this... because i want to weld that perch on there so i don't have problems down the road... but i also don't wanna fjck up my koni's...

a friend of mine went to Midas to have the same thing done.. he was driving and the c ring snapped off. they said the couldn't weld it, but didn't tell us why.
so, we went to home depot and bought Monkey glue, "the worlds strongest glue". so far, it's holding up to its name

i was also thinking of using a heavy duty hose clamp... i was going to put some rubber so it can hold in place and then put the hose clamp under the c-ring... but i guess i'll try slapping some monkey glue on there too cuz i don't want to risk it with the welding...
