You don't really need one but if you want to be safe, you should get one. Rear lower tie bar is included with stock type-s, there must be a reason for it.

the lower rear tie bar placed on the type S is a diff. location than general lower rear tie bar though.

only the neuspeed mounts at the place where honda decided to mount their stock bars on the Type S and R.

your choices are generic... skunk2, neuspeed, dc sports, brand with generic design, spoon.. and er.. thats all i can think of.

i wouldn't bother with the dc sport ones. those are rip offs.

personally a solid bar works best, of course... but...

an intergrated tie bar that comes with rear sway bar such as Progress, Neuspeed... works best.

do u need one? it doesn't hurt.

it stiffens the rear lower points.. and reinforce the subframe a bit.

IMO, depends on the price.. u can get one if u want... get a use one if you can. spending 100+ for a mod like that isn't that worth it.

No it's not. There is not a lower tie bar for the RSX Type S. If there was one, it would also be on the base RSX. They share the same sized rear sway bar.

Do not waste your money on a tie bar if you want the RSX bar. A tie bar only works for bars 20mm and thicker. RSX bar does not qualify.

Tie bars do nothing but reinforce the crossmember preventing it from flexing by the movement of a super thick rear sway bar. It all depends on the size bar you get. Otherwise, it's just on your car for nothing.

True, the Lower Tie bar was introduced becaus earlier versions of the civic, especially race prepaired ones, had a tendency to rip the lower control arm out of its mount. the Tie bar effectively prevents that from happening. so far I havent heard of this happening with our cars, so there may not be a need for it, but Why take the chance?

Because the Civic chassis is the same as the RSX and the one on the Civic is better. j/k Nah, they're the same, and the RSX doesn't have it with a 19mm bar. Obviously, Honda improved the integrity of the chassis.

I think it hasnt happend with our civics yet because as Far as I know, there arn't any racing versions of our cars out(road racing atleast), so no one has pushed the chassis to the breaking point yet. with the RSX it is assumed that some of them are going to be raced, so Honda would probably add a tie bar of some sort to alleviate the problem. Nothing that we couldn't add to our cars if nessisary.

Yeah it is. LOL It's right below the two rear lower control arm attachment points. The Neuspeed rear tie bar mounts to the same location as the RSX one. Check out this: Click Me It's part #5 and it has four part #8 bolts. Looks like it's on the base RSX too.

SlammedBlueEM2, what kind of racing experiance do you have? I ask because Im trying to get as much information on road racing as possible before I step in to the sport. Most likely I'll start In Improved Touring, or Spec RX7 or Spec Miata. each of these platforms have their merrits, as cost and performance needs to be weighed. IT and Spec RX7 would be the cheepest to get in to, but Spec Miata from what I've heard is an awsome class to Run.

I was almost right, lol. I can believe that the suspension between the S and the base is perhaps the same from tire to tie bar?

Other than drag racing, nothing else at the moment and I wouldn't know where to start except to finish my car to my standards and then do some research.
