k guys, just did a lil research. sum said 7440 bulbs and they will only go on when i signal, and sum said using electrical tape for one of the wires. not sure which one works, let me know any of u guys tried it. i prefer the electrical tape method cause my friend gave me some 7440 bulbs and it didn't fit into the socket
Some 7440 bulbs fit with no problem and others need to be adjusted. Generally you just have to shave off the little nubs near the base and they fit fine. Thats the best way to go.
For 7443, yes... just bend and cut one metal connector on each side. If you do this though, they will only come on when you signal, but also you will now have hyperblinkers. Not sure how to get around that, if have don't want hyperblinkers.

If u only want lites to go on when u signal, u need to get the single filament bulbs. If u get double, they will go on with the parking lite as well as when u signal to turn.

look on the housing... there are 3 wires... 2 wires that power either the signal blinking or the parking lights... now.. if you have a test light, check to see which wire is the one powers the light that's always on... cut that wire and cap the end of it.... simple...

for what your trying to accomplish...yes...the lead on the left-side of each side is the 5W (thats the parking lead)
i cant link it for some reason...
'search' under 'tech-stuff' for 'HYPERBLINKER'

if you just want the signal to work and not the parking nor have a 'hyperblinker'...
then cut the left lead on each side of the 7443 and then reinsert the bulb into the socket...that will cut the 5W lead out of the system which would in turn make that a 'single-filament bulb'
