ATTN: people with problems with shifting probs goin into 1st
well i tested it out today on my car!
and well when i was coming to a stop i shifted into 1st gear at 50km/h no problem!
basically its a bushing u gotta work in....
i worked mine in when i first bought my car....
*note* how i said i was slowing down, now the thing is u cannot shift into1st if u want to downshift....... thats the only thing, who wants to do that anyways???
you'll ping the rev limiter thats for sure.
and to those who complain about CIVIC's being slow!
i find my civic nimble and quick... but then again i know how to drive a 5spd..
i raced my buddies oldsmobile alero tonight!
who do you think won???
my civic LX or Olds alero?
well ill tell yah i took him by a fender!
and those cars are quick and heavy!
but hey its all DRIVER!

thank you, finally someone else agrees that this shifting thing is nothing. everyone always bitches about it and it isnt even anything that is any different then any other car. just push it into gear when you are drifting to a stop. people need to learn how to drive a stick before bitching about stupid stuff like that.

the shifting you guys are talking about is different then my shifting problem that a lot of Honda owner's are experiencing. I've had 2 transmission relacements and my car doesn't have it second birthday till the long weekend in May. The first year of the 7th gen DID and still DOES have a very poor transmission......thats why they shipped my new one shipped directly from Japan

the alero was a v6 AUTO
and if u think it matters, it does... b/c the car is fast and is pushing at least 50HP more then me....
if u want to learn more about your civic??
take it to a deserted street, launch it and dump the clutch!
but dont dump the clutch to the point where it will spin the tires.... try to do it quick enough with minimal spinning, therefore your car will grip the road like its on slicks!
i learned this when i DRAGGED my Neon running 15.5 in 1/4 it aint much... but it was good enough for me, if i still had it, i would of turboed it!
