my friend has a 95 civic with an engine swap in it. he lost his power steering when that happened, its so hard tryin to make tight corners at slow speeds.

Believe it or not, you can still get cars in Mexico without power steering. My last car without power steering was a 94 VW Beetle. You do get used after a couple of days.

The cheapest cars (Opel Corsas, Hyundai Atos, Beetles, Ford Ka) offer power steering as an option.

But to be honest the hardest steering I´ve seen was in an old 80-85 datsun that belong to my Grandmother. It was amazing she drove that cracker.

My 97 coupe has nada on the power steering - by the time I get rid of this car, my arms are going to be ripped lol

You power steering people think ya have it good...I like no power steering! Yeah that's right! I mean, you won't catch me parallel parking on a hill in traffic, but I like it!

Phil I hear ya! My grandfathers 98 Civic Hatch (5 speed too!) doesn't have it. Obviously though because the hatches were all DXs. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/IMG]

the only things i'd give up my power steering for would be either a k20 swap, which i can't afford, or a massive turbo, which i can't afford. so i'll be sticking with my power steering.

Typically cars that are made without power stearing have a different gearing the wheel itself to make it not as hard to steer, it's especially this way with trucks, older suburbans had like 4 or 5 revolutions of the wheel before it would stop turning, while now they have much less because of power steering. Anyway, so if you have a car that does have power steering and then it goes out, it will be harder to turn then a car that is ment to be without power stearing.

I actually like the way my car handles w/o power steering. Control is more precise and there is absolutely no wasted left and right motion in getting the wheels pointed where i want them. Sure - parallel parking can sometimes be a pain, but oh well.

My company's Christmas party was at this nice club where they have mandatory valet parking (I try to never valet my car unless I have to). When my date and I came back to pick up my car, the valet was like, "Hey man your car is pretty nice - but PLEASE FIX THE POWER STEERING!" I have a friend that drives a tacoma pickup that doesn't have power steering. It's not bad really. It's only a pain when not in motion. It does give nice feel and control of da road.

I always made fun of him backing up when leaving the gym because his arms would be fatigued and he'd whine like a baby backing out.
