I am trying to get at the factory reciever on my 2003 LX. I have looked and looked all over the web. I have also checked out alot of DIY on this site and many others. Everything I have found refers to the 2001 or 2002 model of the civic. I was wondering if there is any difference to how you take apart the dash on this years model. The part I am having trouble with is removing the lower center cover (the one with the 12V acc.). I have the covered drink holder with the rounded top. I have attempted to pry if off but it doesn't seem to want to come off! Am I not pulling hard enough? Or do I have to remove other parts of the trim first? I also have found lots of info on how to remove last year's center coosel trim but nothing yet for this years. I have the built in armrest /w compartment and a manual shifter. Any help you could give me on this would be great or if you know anywhere with a DIY for 2003.

2k1, 2k2, 2k3, it's alll the same.

as or the accesory piece, yank like you got a pair! that's the first piece to remove. put a screwdriver on each side and pull it out.

honestly, this should be easy to do. took me less than an hour to do a complete install my first time on my car.

From what I recall from sitting in a 2k3 at the dealer, the whole console/12v outlet thingy is one big peice....so to remove it, you would go over the steps of removing the console, and then just yank and the thing should pop out.

When i got my system installed it took almost all day, this is becuase they changed the whole wiring schematic or something from 02 to 03. That's what the guy told me, but i don't see why they would do this. So maybe they changed other things too, such as how you take out the reciever?
