go really slow, and u wanna go over them in an angle, or if it has a break in it, u can have one tire on and one tire off, but majority of time just go sideways

try the speedbumps in Mexico. my nephew took his 96 civic down there, lowered 2.5 inches..and those things are huge, no wonder why mexicans(im a mexican too by the way)can jump over the border so easily, thats cuz they been trained well..but yeah..

Sideways is always the key, and really really slow

Well this is my set up i have skunk2 coilovers and koni yellows, you can get coilovers and have the height adjusted to ur taste, mine has about a sports drop (1.75-1.8) inches and i can just clear speed bumps. The car looks dropped but not over done theres about the width of my middle finger for the wheel gap.

try to avoid them as much as possible. if you can just angle and go through them sideways. my car is lowered about 2 inches, maybe even lower and i jsut angle.

i dont kno why ppl swerve on speed bumps for...if u go slow enough the car wont bounce and hit the bottom. Either way the speed bump is gonna go through the bottom of ur car. so i think swerving is useless on speed bumps but a must on drive ways IMO

if you go at an angle, the tire will hit the bump before the whole bumper is over it. this will lift the car before the bumper scrapes. i have a 2" drop and full xenon kit and i can get over almost every speed bump i encounter by going at an angle. but if i were to go straight i'd screw it all up.

makes $2500 for bags look like a good deal huh.

I run 205/45 tires, and have never scraped over a speedbump. I have it barely tucked in the back, but 1/2 a finger in front. I think 45 ratio tires will be your best bet for not scraping. Note that I said I never scrape over speed bumps, and that's just going straight trough them at slow speeds, and I don't really have to go that slow. I can go through them fast as my stock set up because I guess the B&G setup is a plus in that area. But I do scrap going up driveways and those incline. I really only scrape my exahaust because it hangs low. It's the cannister style (a big one).

Look at my ride, no link yet... I got 17's with an octane everything , but blitz off a 6th gen civic and gc coilovers with right about a 2 inch drop, i am near 2 inches off the ground. Most speed bumps, even those big long ones in the residential areas I can just go slow over.... with the residential ones i can go like 20 over them , barely angle if at all and not hit, my springs have settled well.... On the one in this **** hole apt complex I djust go slow over em... most of the yellow or white apt. complex type one , just go slow, no real need to angle.. try just going slow over em, if you scrap, oh well, try angling the next time.... If there is anything I've learn from having been rearend twice and scraping the front running from a raid, , and a hit and run to the drivers side... it wont be show all the time, and scraps on the bottom ( where noone checks anyway) dont matter that much... if you scrape, just try a lil slower, and a dif angle....

* you wont always have a clear shot, there may be parked cars, cars of a 2-way street, and so on, just be as carefull as you can until you get comfortable... I know EXACTLY when im going to scrap or bump and where, whenever I go over ANYTHING, it just takes some experience....
but try slow, try angle, try some things you might be afraid of trying ( maybe, depends on how paraniod you are, took me months to try random **** just to test my skills).
And, qiuck tip: always beware of places unknown, and of those dreaded double-angle inclines, god damn I can't tell you how annoying those are...
Any q's or c's, let me know....

I've got neuspeede sport that's a bit still high but just to make sure i always take large bumps, humps with an angle.. we call it 'siete' here in the philippines - theres your hump _ (horizontal) take on an angle and you do a number 7 (your cars diagonal) siete - seven .. if u really wanna be sure, go very very slow

I used to scrape whenever my car wasnt dropped. Now that is dropped I dont scrape at all but Im careful though. There are a lot of messed up streets in Houston and my 19s make it worse so Im very careful.

This is why I refuse to drop my civic... Isn't your car supposed to be easy to drive? My old civic was dropped 2", and I trashed 2 body kits within a year or so, and I was an extremely careful driver. I think a drop only belongs on a show car... otherwise, you're just shooting yourself in the foot.

i think slamming the car to the ground would be for show... but having a little drop would improve the handling...

dude, you guys make it sound like dropping the cars a big deal.. i dropped my car 1.75" and i ride it almost the same as when my car was stock. and of course when you lower the car you should take speedbumps at an angle, if you dont want to, dont lower it! only time when your going to have a real tough time clearing speedbumps is when your car is dropped 3" and you have a kit. most of us only lower the car 1.75" tho.
but ya it really isnt a big deal, just lower it and driving a lil more carefully will be worth it
