DIY...Black Headlights
Not the best DIY but I got a few PM's about it so I figure this may help a few people...
First remove the front bumper.
1. There's screws/plastic tabs on the bottom, take them off.
2. Remove the top screw inside each wheel well.
3. Remove the 4 plastic tabs on top, underneath the hood.
Take out the headlight assembly.
1. There are 4 bolts on holding each assembly. They should be 10mm.
2. Take off the botom metal bracket on each light to completely free up the assembly.
3. There are 5 clipse on each light. Pop them off gently with a flathead screw driver.
4. Heat up the assembly with a hair dryer and pull on the light assembly, some easy work with a
blade may be neccessary. Wear clothes you don't care about ruining.
5. Take the two screws off the back of the chrome plastic piece inside the lense. (I used an allen
wrench which worked out fine.)
Prep the plastic.
1. Clean the plastic with some Prep-All or some other strong cleaner. Allow time to thoroughly dry.
2. I LIGHTLY applied multiple coats over the lenses (about 5-6 coats). *Make sure you do not stop or
start moving directly over the piece or it will overspray or run. I used a High-Temp Gloss Black
paint. (500*)
3. After allowing time to dry, reverse the previous steps. It looks pretty sweet when it's done.
My passenger light did fog up, I removed all the black stuff (COUPES ONLY) and resealed it with silicone. I was a little lean on the silicone though so I must remove the assembly and add more. Some people heated up their stock black stuff and from what I've heard worked out pretty well. It's up to you.
Hope this helps.

Any leaks in the housing(includes the bulb mounts) will absorb moisture into the housing. Make sure all the moisture is out before you reseal and mount. If you do not you will have the same problem.

isn't there a way to prevent you from painting the side parkers housing (leaving it chrome so the light reflects off of it)????

Very sweet man, props to you madwheel
. You should do a very detailed step by step DIY but thats cool just with what you have right now. I have a spare headlamp in my garage that I will test this DIY on. Your's looks great. Anyone else have it done with pics? Again, great job man.
