Custom Exhaust Project, could use some help...

Well I'm abou to buy this exhaust from ebay. I'm in an auto tech class at school right now and they're gonna teach me how to weld pretty soon. Anyway here are my ideas:

1) If all else fails, I'm just gonna take it to a shop and get a custom exhaust
2) But I wanna try do to it myself. If the shop doesn't teach me how to bend the piping, I was just thinking about doing an axle back. I wanted the piping to be about 2.25 or 2.5 inches for the axle back only. This is only until I get some money to do the cat back.

Question: Is there anyway I can weld the axle back piping to the muffler, and have the other side be like a bolt on? Instead of welding it to the stock piping?

~~~~Basically, I'm getting a muffler. I have the opportunity to weld everything myself. Can I just buy some 2.25 piping (that is IF I learn how to bend too) and slap everything together? If not, I'm gonna do an axle back. So what should I do??~~~~~
Does this make any sense? I'm sorry if I sound completely retarted.... Any help guys?
Go 2.25 MAX unless your boosting or spray ALOT. Maybe even 2 inch depending on the noies level you want. And axel back is a bolt on peice that includes a short amount of pipeing, muffler and then tip. It would be some work but it can be done
I think stock piping is about 1.5 or 1.75 max.
Yeah, I was just wondering if I can have that peice at the end so I can bold on or take off the muffler when I wanted to, rather than welding it. I really don't care for sound, and I wont get much power. I would rather just have the look but no ricey sound. I'm considering maybe just cutting off the stock muffler and weld the new muffler onto the stock piping.
