Moonroof rattling - FIXED!
Everytime when I open the sunshade but keep the moonroof glass closed or tilt up, I will hear a rattling noise like some small metallic part is hitting against each other when driving. After a month of investigation, I found out that if you stick some thin sheet of soft material (like nonslippery pad that can buy from circuit city or bestbuy) on the top of the sunshade (I mean the side that face the moonroof glass), the rattling noise will be completely out. I guess there might be a gap btw our sunshade and the roof that cause this rattling, so if u fill the gap then it will eliminate the noise.

Mine used to rattle right above my head. I put some foam weather-stripping in there and all is well. Although, now the darn thing rattles on the passenger side and I can't hear it well enough to tell exactly where it is coming from. I believe it is the shade though. I will give your idea a shot.

Mine started rattling very badly the other day from what seems like the rear dome light area. I was trying to drive so I just smacked it really hard and it stopped, hopefully that'll be the end of it. If not, i might just drop the headliner and sound deaden the whole thing
