Illegal U-turn
I was going to Import Motion here in NorCal, but when I was walking distance to the event, I pulled a quick U-ey To park.
Just then a motorcycle cop pulls me over and tells me no U-turn blah blah blah.
Gives me a ticket and rides off... ruins my night, could barely pay attention to the show...
The court house is about a 1:30-2 hr drive from my place! Can I somehow contest it without going there, err not even contest it, I might as well plead guilty, goto traffic school and get that point off right?
My problems here are: the courtroom is far and I am underage, so I need to bring a parent, and what should I do so I dont get an extra point on my license, this is my first Moving Violation.

I'm not familiar with the california law, but if you guys have court supervision or something like that, take it. It basically says that you pay a ~$75 fine, and they don't put the points on your liscense, and don't tell your insurance company. However, if you get another ticket while on supervision (mine was 30 days, but some people I know have been on for six months or even a year) then you get the fine and points from both tickets. This usually has to be done in court.
The whole dealing with a parent coming is a joke. My dad had to take off of work to come to my hearing, and they wouldn't even let him in the court room. That was a waste of his day.

Congratulations! You may have just helped the Fuzz meet their quota. Maybe if you do it again, they won't do anything because they've already done all the work they've needed to do! LoL. That's what the friendly guys in blue down in the Police Dept said to me when I was having a convo with a friend that works there!
my mom had to pay for a ticket too (I think it was for driving on the wrong side of the road.
Graveyard shift makes her tired coming home in the morning.) But she just went along with everything. No need to fight, you'd just be wasting your time; the cops are always right.

u could always do what i did. i got a ticket for doing 75 in a 45, and the fee was 322 bucks. i never told my parents about, waited for the mail for days on end, and paid the fine and went to traffic school. that way u wont get ur insurance jacked up. unless of course u have been top traffic school in the last 18 months.

the same thing happened to me about 2 months ago... u know what u do???
FIGHT IT
if ur record is pretty clean, most likely they will just disgard everything like they did for me it was an $80 ticket, i didnt hear from anyone for about a month- then i got a letter saying they werent gonna go thru with it. My friend, who works at a police dept said that they prolly dropped the charges cuz they dont wanna waste time on little stuff like that.

I have been pulled over 3 times over the course of 4 years.
The first, 60 in a 45, the guy just let me go and told me to slow down.
The second, 45 in a 30, I got a ticket, payed a fine, & had 6 months of probation.
The third, 40 in a 30, I got a ticket, but wanted to argue it since the speed limit sign was covered up by a tree limb. Literally you could not see the sign before you saw the cop. I wasn't contesting the sppeding, but rather the lack being able to see the sign. Well, the cop never showed up for court, CASE DISMISSED!
I say fight it if you can. Make those cops earn their salaries!

Thanks guys for the comments
But I'm not too sure but this is what I've heard
1. If you fight it and you lose, your punishment fee [] will be more then pleading guilty
2. If you fight it, and you lose, then you have no chance of taking a traffic school class to clear the point
3. The cop will most likely show up because they have too much time on their hands
number 3 was from personal experience too

flew by a cop in my town 90 in a 45. he was facing the other direction, so when i saw him start a u i mashed the brakes and turned onto a side street. he caught me wanted to no why i was running from the cops. it was all good and we joked around for a little bit, so i only got a 2 point "failure to regard a traffic control device" ticket.
