AEM Short Ram installation...

ok i got my aem shortram intake for my 2k1 ex 2dr..

First thing it says is to remove battery cables from fuse box aright so it has a head for a screwdriver, take out the screwdriver... **** is so tight it starts stripping, i let my friend give it a try and no luck getting it off...
then i try to remove a bolt from the stock intake manifold, very tight could not loosen it at all. Im thinking maybe i need diff tools or something becuase no madder how hard i try nothing wants to loosen just strips from all the pressure.
any ideas

Yea, those screws are kinda tight. I would just take off the negative battery cable. It's not really that big of a deal, just a safety measure. Make sure that you have good quality tools like craftsman or something.

u should be able to take out the bolt for the negative battery via a socket wrench...

what kind of wrench are you using? is it long enough so you can have more torque applied to it? better tools will help. I can take the stock intake assembly out in 5-10 minutes.

on another note, AEM wants u to take out the negative so u can reset the ECU. its not really a safety issue.

dont use the philips screw driver. all you need is the 8MM for the airbox lid and 10MM for the airbox assembly.

like everyone said, 8mm and 10mm socket wrench... thats all u really need.. a flathead screwdriver will help too.

once u take out everything its pretty straight foward.. check out the DIY section for the CAI DIY if u need help on taking out the stock airbox... there's really no short cut, just take out all the bolts...

remember, just take out the stock airbox.. nothing else. dont need to worry about the transmission mount since you dont have a CAI.
