Getting an alarm installed soon

Like the title says, i'm gonna get a viper 500 esp2 alarm installed after christmas. I'm getting a remote trunk release installed with it. Is there anything I need to look for or tell them when they do it. I'm getting it all installed for 250. I'm pretty much a dummy when it comes to stuff like this. Thanks for any help or comments.

make sure they wire something for your trunk. whether it be a pin or something for when the trunk light goes on. some places don't do that with a basic install.

actually the trunk trigger is on the same circuit the door trigger is so that you dont have to worry about! worry about your hood ask them to protect your hood with a pin switch that will activate your alarm when it is opened!

okay i'll ask them about that. Wouldn't it go off anyways if the hood was opened because it would jar the car?

Well it depends on how sensative they set your sensors. Always remember that you dont want it to be to sensative cause you'll be running to your car every 5min and you also dont want to **** off your neighbors!!!!!! I think the installer knows best and he should adjust so that you have no problems. Another thing is that an Alarm dosent really protect your car. A true thief will take your car no matter what you have to stop him the only thing you can do is make it a little harder!!!! Take it from an ex-installer!
