Acrylic dash failure :(
Bah!....After 3 tries making a peice that fits my dash, i've discovered that honda felt the need to curve the trim peice....alas, acrylic does not seem like a viable option....unless I felt like trying to heat/bend it to shape....which probably makes it fog over....and I really am getting fed up with it snapping and not fitting correctly.
So, my question is, has anyone on here tried fiberglass? I've never used it before, but am contemplating this as a small entry level project for my first try with it....Any thoughts/hints/suggestions/dangers with using fiberglass?

P.S. incase I were to messup the trim peice, does anyone know off-hand the price of a new peice from honda?

working with glass can be difficult and takes alot of practice. You can overlay it. But if you dont do it perfictly than its ruined, or you can make a mold of the part and use that to make the actual trim piece. try starting with something simple. PM me if you want to know more about how to replace parts of you car with composites.

I used some .020" cf sheet to make trim pieces before, you can buy it prefinished from west coast composites and its availible in colors too. The great thing is that its flexible and you can cut it w/ sissors (sp?).
