> DX gauge pod swap to lx/ex is this possible???
i was wondering if you could swap the dx's gauge pod with one from ex/lx. would probly need ecu reprograming or somthing ehh? i realy dont want to mount a seperate tach and the guages are the only thing that dont match my int. lighting so new gauge faces would rock thanks!
Go to Honda and dish out about 300 bucks and they will get you that swap, and no, i think it is a clean swap, we have the hook ups for everything if i am not mistaken. Anyway, click on the search button, and put dx and gauge in the fields, then click on "general aut ramblings" "tech stuff" and "other parts and products" and there should be some posts on it, if not, go back to the search page, do the above steps, and chenge "current messages" to "archived messages"

Anyways, I didn't want a fat tachometer sitting on my dash, so I swapped my dx gauge cluster.
Some Quick Answers so you don't go and post another discussed topic for the 100000th time.
1) Guage cluster swaps can and have been done. (Just make sure you stick with the same tranny, auto gauges for an auto civ...)
2) Your car's true mileage will not be on the new cluster. The mileage from the previous car will still be on the new cluster.
3) You can get instructions on how to do a swap in the DIY section of the site. Try the instructions for Indiglo Gauge Faces. It is basically like disconnecting and reconnecting the cables on the back of your computer.
4) Some Honda dealers will do it, but they will charge a lot $$$.
5) It is easy to swap the gauges, takes 2 hours tops (I was really careful about it).
6) You can buy new clusters at a Honda dealer (expect the cost of over $300, but the cluster will read 0 miles at least)
eBay.com might also have some up for auction.
If you need any other answers, then you need to get a brain.

I am currently in the process of buying a gauge cluster and I've actually heard conflicting facts. The swap is simple but I went to my dealership over the weekend and the parts guy said the mileage does not stick with the cluster and that it only reads what the ECU says. He said that they've done the swap many times before with no problems. That's also the same thing I heard from one of the senior moderators on this site. I don't know who to believe but I guess I'll see when I make the swap. If anything just drive your vehicle until it reaches the mileage on the new cluster and than install it. I will update as soon as I get the cluster installed.
