MPG Tach

Does anyone know if it's possible to put a tach for miles per gallon on our cars?
If so, where should I go to get something like that?
Thanks!

Put a calculator in the center console. When you fill up, use this equation:

Miles traveled since last fillup
Gallons pumped

That equals MPG. As far as instantaneous MPG, you'd need to rig up a computer into the car that can calculate that. I wouldn't bother with it.

first of all a "tach" is a meter that measures rpm........comes from the word tachometer........what you would want is a mpg gauge or meter.

Its called go to wal-mart and buy the cheapest calculator they have and when you finish pumping gas pull it out and divide how many miles you went by the gallons you pumped. Boom a 2 dollar investment in your car and you didnt even have to splice a wire.

I want to see how many miles per gallon i am getting at any given time, not an average number after driving 300 miles or so.
I know they make a guage for MPG, I just want to know where to get one.
And I also know that technically it's not a tach, but if i knew i had to be so freakin specific i wouldn't have posted anything.
thanks for nothing

CoolMD...i dunno if it helps any, but i know exactly what you're talking about. Like the one's on BMW's....its located under the tach but has a little upside down needle that moves beside the number of mpg you're getting...they are fun cuz when you floor it, you can watch it go to 2mph. haha....I kinda want one cuz its nice to know those things....what i'd like more is a mod that contains the digital readout that has mpg, miles per tank, and all that stuff...

Um... a tach measures the revolutions per minute of your engine. Your miles per gallon is related to the RPM, but they're not nearly the same thing. I've looked around for guages, and I haven't seen any that measure MPG. If you want a MPG guage here are the steps... 1) buy a bimmer. 2) read your MPG guage. It would probably be not worth your time and money after parts and installation.
