Do our stock tires suck?

If so, why? I don't know anything about tires.

Thanks,

No traction. They're all season tires. That means they're "good" on dry, wet, and snowy surfaces. Not to mention they're skinny as hell.

You want Yokohama Parada Spec-2's.

They rule.

They're good for drifting at lower speeds, so if you want to drive sideways, learn to drift with stock tires and beat the **** out of them.

Hey! The stock tires are good...good for hydro-planing...good for nothing....good for wrecking...good for ditch-ramming...good for burnouts...etc etc.

They're the absolute WORST tires I've ever had on a car. Hard to believe Honda could choose such a crappy tire for oem. I replaced them a few months ago with the cheapest tires i could find...walmart douglas brand..made by goodyear (supposedly). There is no comparison. These new tires run like a good set of performance tires. Better wet, dry and handling. No noise either.

Do yourself a favor...replace your original tires asap!

Firestones, remember the incident they had a couple of years back with the tires blowing up!

I was quite surprised when I found Honda to bundle these tires. Alas I weren't going to base a car-buying decision on the tires. Come winter they're going out the door.

These tires skid like mad on rain and snow, dangerous at times. They're probably worth $50 for the set new. Damn Honda and cost-cutting.

The Si's bundle with Michelin tires. IMO, the cheapest Michelin tires are still good tires, not like what we have, cheapest Firestones = worthless sh|t.

- they are the worst tire ever. well at least for racing and daily driving. i finally bought some falken azenis 2 weeks ago and shaved my my 1/4 time by .2 sec. i get better launches as well. my firestones would spin in 1st and 2nd gear

Things I hate about my Firestone FR690 stock tires:

1. very little wet traction
2. next to no traction in snow/ice
3. squeeling around corners in dry conditions

SURVEY SAYS: if you look at the tire survey on http://www.tirerack.com you'll see that the FR690 ranks dead last in just about every category. (sorry I don't have a direct link to the survey - maybe this has been posted before?)

and for 5 dollars les per tire you can purcahse a sweet Pirelli Touring P400 tires for your civic, how retarded of Honda to use a more expensive yet 3 times as bad tire.
