Anyone taken rear deck out?

I'm gonna take mine out this weekend so I can take my car to get the windows tinted. They guy said he could do it without taking it out, but it'd be easier with it out of the way. I'd rather take it out and have it be easier for him than take a chance on having it look like crap or him getting the back deck dirty.

BTW: Do those stupid little black dots all around the edges of the windows show through the tint? I saw a car going down the road yesterday and it looks like every window is framed with a crappy white line from where the tint didn't stick to those dots.

FOrget that!! You're paying him arent you? I paid 120 for my tints which was pretty cheap.. and they took it out. My tint go up to all those black dots but not on them.. You'll be pissed of for a lil while but then you won't realize that there isn't any tint there.

Wow, I had to work out a "group buy" with my shop to get that price... it would've been $140 originally. I talked a couple buddies into going in the same time as me and we all get $20 off.

Did your tint come with a lifetime guarantee or a 5 year? This stuff has a lifetime... Ohio limit is 50%, but I think I'm gonna go in the neighborhood of 20%. If I were the only one driving the car, it'd be Limo all the way like on my Firebird. However, my wife has a little trouble seeing well at night, so I don't want to totally handicap her.

Yes! Good question. Here is the solution: Take a clear glue stick and rub it on the edge of the dots before putting on the tint. It will fill in the spaces betwean the little dots where the tint can't bend and stick. That will prevent the white hazy look on the edge of the tinted windows.

BTW, this belongs in Tech Stuff. Moving to Tech Stuff...
