Got a nice cop this morning...
Ok, I was trying to avoid the construction on US 30 this morning, so I tried a back way on a few 2 lane state roads to get a round it. I really didn't know where they went other than I got back to US 30 after I got passed the construction. I was driving along fine doing 60-62 in a 55 when I came into a town. There was a "Reduced speed ahead sign", but didn't say how much less it was, so I just kept moving right along with traffic. Somewhere, I must have missed it, the limit went to 40, I was closing up on the guy in front of me a little bit, but not a whole lot. Cop goes by the other way, Uturn. I'm thinking, " You've gotta be kidding." So I pull over, he said I was going 57 in a 40, I believe it, and I told him I was just going with traffic and not paying attention to the exact number on the speedometer. I think he was just looking for something to do. He was real nice about it, just asked if I usually commute this way, which I don't, and just asked where I worked and stuff, looked at my license and let me go. Nice cop really, I was polite on the other end too, but I do appreciate not having someone come up to the window yelling. Honest mistake, I missed a sign on a road I'm not familiar with. So that's my cop story...
Cool
. A lot of cops are nice, as long as you are nice to them. If I had to put up with what cops put up with every day, I'm sure I'd be a little testy too. I'm just glad you respected him, and he respected you.
...and they all lived happily ever-after

Well, tell you what, if you are cool to them they're usually cool to you. I've seen tons of traffic stop videos and it always seems like the officer keeps his cool while the guy he stopped is a total ***!

I have never dealt with a nice cop, and I have always talked to them with the utmost respect. I in no way sound sarcastic or rude when I speak with them, its always yes sir, no sir. I guess its just because the have to put up with alot of garbage in my town...Oh wait I did have this rookie cop once, she was hot as hell so I started to flirt!!haha I got the ticket anyways cause she was with another cop...

I personally have only delt with 2 nice cops in my life... my father (who pulled me over on the highway once) and a houston cop that not only let me go after pulling me over for 45 in a 35, but even asked if I could tell him where to get some good stuff for his car... cool guy.
Most cops are a$$holes, because they have to be... and other are, because we make them that way. When my cousin started the police force, he entered it with an optimistic outlook on his job and loved every minute of it. After about a year, he became so tired of dealing with all the idiots that he became jaded. People give cops alot of $h1t on a very regular basis, which is why by the time they pull you over they are sick of dealing with excuses and rudeness. If you are nice to a cop, then SOMETIMES they will be nice back.
Now that is out of the way, the voices in my head can speak. I think cops need to watch their attitudes towards people in general. Remember cops, YOU work for US... We pay your salary with our tax dollars. Would you act like a a$$ towards your superiors at the station... ? Then why do it to the people who actually matter. Perhaps next time you pull someone over, you should remind yourself that the person sitting in the car in front of you is as much your boss as that fat lazy guy that sits in his office handing out orders. now, back to my evil deeds.

I am always completely respectful to police officers when I am pulled over. I don't go over board or anything even close to that. I just talk to them as though they were a friend with the added "no/yes sir." I don't even do that if they are around my age. I know why I am getting pulled over and see no reason to be rude or give the officer an attitude for doing his job. I have only had one officer be rude to me out of all the times I have been pulled over. This guy was on a power trip and just thought he was God or something. It was absolutely lovely though when I smiled at him as I left the court room after having the 2 tickets he had given me dismissed.
Anyhow, I am always respectful to officers no matter if I am behind the wheel or in the grocery store. I respect what they do and am greatful for the safety that they provide. Always remember that these people strap on armor everyday and put a loaded gun on their side. Their life can be taken at anytime and they put it on the line regularly to protect YOU.
