Just bought my Tein type SS coilovers
Hey everyone, just bought my Tein Super Steet coilovers from Modacar.com, got them for 1149.00. They also sell them at Options Auto for 1188.00. Should be either getting them this week or next, I won't be installing them right away, but I'll try to post picts so everyone can see the setup.
Definitely post pics and let us know what you think of them! Tein makes some really nice suspension. The other night I finally got to drive the GSR with Tein NA's. I was a very nice ride. You installing the Tein's yourself? Or are you having a shop do it for you?
u can only lower it maximum of 1 1/4 " ...?? why ...if its super street .why would they do that .... i wanted a coilover that can lower my car down at about 3" ..so that whenever i put my car in shows i can lower it pretty good...i was thinking of buying these coilovers ., but if they can only lower to 1 1/4" ... i'll just wait for the NEX suspension
can someone pls..confirm this....
EDIT:
check the installatin manual in the beggining they mentioned that these coilovers are meant for off-road use only not for daily driving ?? wtf ...... i dont get it

well they are coilovers, not springs... they probably set it at the suggested height...
10mm is in 1 cm right? and about 2 cms is in 1 in.. so i guess 33mm is about 1 1/4in.

tein ss are full coilovers
as for taking things out of our stock suspension.. i was thinking about it, if it does come with the upper seat, we wouldn't have to take our strut assembly apart, just take off the upper mount that has the 3 bolts(this isnt bolted to the rest of the strut assembly). so yes installation should be easy if it does come with the upper perch.

good, cause i still dont like the idea of cuting up my stock struts and the option of shelling out $200 for new factory struts to use for the mod isnt ideal either!
now, since these coilovers have 16 adjustment settings for the damping rate, is the "soft" setting very soft? so if im gonna be driving on really bumpy road, could i make it so my suspension wouldn't rattle my friggin teeth?

Im probably going to take it to a shop to get them professionally installed, I don't want to do it myself and screw up my suspension, after I spent so much money for it. Still haven't gotten them yet from UPS. Hopefully they will come today or by next monday. When I get them, I'll post pictures. Still need to buy a camber kit and locking lug nuts for my rims. As for the drop height, I know it doesn't see to low, but I have 18" rims and I'm just doing daily driving, so I don't need to be slammed to the ground. Besides, Los Angeles County doesn't seem to want to fix the streets by my neighborhood, so a good ride will help.

Modacar.com has tracking info and it says I am going to recieve them on the 20th, tuesday. Hopefully they will come. No I don't have any aftermarket springs to compare them to, i was kinda saving my money to get coilovers in the first place. Still gotta get my camber kit first. I'm going to take pics of the setup first before i install them.

Hey that's great man I just put $900 on a set of TEIN's for my 2001 I still owe $295. I currently have Eibach Ground Control Coilovers with stock shocks and struts on 19" Racing Hart C3's and I'm looking to sell the Eibach's for about $230. I'm going to drop the car about an 1.25" total.

If the install is easy, then I may buy those and get a warranty refund on my B+Gs for that ugly clanging sound whenever I turn. Grease doesn't seem to help with it at all..
