ATTENTION: People With Goldline Springs...
Did you or the shop where u had ur springs installed cut the bumpstops to install the springs?
Is it really necesssary to cut them?
What if i dont cut them and just install the springs like that? What will happen?
Thanks

my friend that will be installing my springs will be cutting my bump stoped, he has installed springs in 3 other 7thgens and cut their bumpstops, he said it lets the shocks last longers. and it seems like true, everyone on the site that installed springs, most of their shocks blow within the first week! but these 3 guys, 2 of them has been riding of intrax 2 inch drop for a few months, the shocks haven't blow yet...

I had a shop in town install mine. I asked the guy who installed them if he cut them. He said no, he didn't have to. I haven't had any problems with them. The guy knew what he was doing because aparently thats all he does. Half of the roads around here just suck and i think the ride is better than stock unless i hit a big hole or something.

this isnt necesarily true. if there even is a difference, chances are your going to have a better chance of the shocks blowing if you cut them. if you dont cut them you just have a better chance of them bottoming out. when you hit a bump or something[hr]

bottoming out for me is when you hear a 'thud'... this is your shocks compressing all the way to the bumpstop.
cutting the bumpstop gives more shock travel, thus putting more stress on the shock. and ya i do think we went over this once, i forgot what we agreed on at the end. but yes i agree, i suggest you cut them too. thats what goldline recommend anyways i think.
