newspeed sports on stock struts with 14" wheels?
newspeed sports on stock struts with 14" wheels?
like the title says, now i was wondering if it would be a bad setup cause the springs are just sitting in my closet cause i dont wanna blow the struts. and i dont wanna get rid of my 14" alloys just yet i kinda like em, so would my ride be scraping if i put these on? how long till my struts blow?

what size tires? you most likely dont have to worry about rubbing/scraping but ya this mainly depends on the tire size... as for blown struts, this has been answered many times before. i know it was answered in the suspension FAQ. it really is a matter of luck. for some it lasts a day other years... with neuspeed sports it would probably last a year. but again it really varies. i have mine for about 2-3 months and its been fine..

If you're so concerned about blowing struts, then save up and get Koni's before you do the springs. Otherwise, enjoy the bumpy ride. I doubt sport springs will make your tires rub, no matter how big they are (unless you run your Civ like an SUV).

i think it would be perfect for you then.. cause i had neuspeed sports on stock wheels(185-70-14 is stock lx wheels). i didnt scrape or rub, basically rode it like stock. it wasnt slammed but it looked dropped and killed the fender gap... i had 1 1/2 finger gap all around... i would say go for it...
oh i already have the neuspeed sport springs in my closet. they've been there for 4 months. so im finally gonna put em on this sat. but just wanted to see if anyone else had problems with this type of setup.

i'm guessing you havent read my previous posts about my experience with neuspeed.. i had the old ones on my coupe and had a system in the trunk as well. the rear was still really high, it almost looked stock.. from what i remember i had a 3 finger gap. i talked to neuspeed and got them to 'replace' my springs for free... i had to take a couple hours off or work, drive an hour both ways, wake up ay 6 in the morn, wait an hour for them to install and they finally put the 'coupe' ones in and it was all worth it... it is now an even drop, 1 1/2 finger gap all around even with the system.
reason why i have ' ' around some words is i recently found out they just cut one of the coils off the rear springs. this is what you could do too. i'm sure the coupe springs are just factory cut versions of sedan ones.
