Short shifter kind of stiff will it loosen up with time

I just installed a short shifter kit (Just like the dc sports) and when i shift its kind of stiff. Yea i know that it makes the angle higher and i did put some wd-40 and it helped a bit, but i was woundering if other people had the same problem. Did you just get used to it or did it get looser with time. Thanks.

A friend of mine as a short shifter in his Civic, and his shifter is unbelievably tight. I haven't put a short shifter in my car yet, but he thinks its from the linkage. He did an engine swap also...

i just put the DC sports short shift adaptor on also and it is tight. I think because you changed the angle of the shifting rod, that it gets a little tighter. I think it might loosen a little, but I am not expecting much.

Nah...it doesn't "loosen up"...the angle at which the linkages sit has been changed in order to shorten the actual throw for each shift. What will happen is that your hand and arm will get used to the new level of effort. This, BTW, is not a flaw--it happens with all short shifters/adapters.

Thanks guys for the answers and you guys r right about getting used to it. I drove it all day and can't feel it as mutch. Do you guys know if at that angle there is a chance that the linkage will break or with time will need to be replaced? Thanks.
