JDM Headlight Conversion???? For people with Cleared Lights

Well we all know the only difference between american and japense version headlights is one the inserts are smoked and two they dont have a diffuser for the bulb. Well those of you who have cracked open there headlights. Does it look like our diffuser could be removed without screwing up the structural composition of the lamp? I just cant help but like the way s2000 lights look at night crusing would like the same look myself. Thanks for the help.

VERY stupid question for ya'...

Which part is the diffuser? Is it the chrome shield behind the bulb, or the dome looking thingy that is in front of the bulb (so non-reflected light doesn't go in people's eyes)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The diffuser is the sheild thing that takes the light from the bulb and then reflects it back into the housing. So is it removable or not. The pictures posted have the inserts smoke which is part of it but not totaly.

the real differences between the USDM and the real JDM headlights for the 2k1 civic is:

- the diffuser

in no way does the the JDM headlights for the 2k1 have anything tinted or smoked...this was for previous gens and not the 7th..

O.K., I was not aware of that.....The diffuser is not part of the insert that I painted black.
The diffuser is part of the actuall rear part of the light when you plit it open.

Remove the difuser?......I would guess it would not reflect as much.....and straight into oncoming traffics eyes?.....

Paint?....BBQ?...I just used 500 degree engine block glossy paint....works perfect......

I heard something about JDM headlights that I wanted to run by you guys. You know how we drive on the right side of the road...I heard that the reflectors in the headlights are angled so that most of the light is aimed slightly to the right, 'cause if it was left, then it would be at oncoming traffic and blind them. But since Japan is the opposite of us, JDM reflectors are aimed to the left. So if we put those in, then we'd basically be blinding oncoming traffic more than necessary and would not be optimized for our vision desires. Is this true and what do you guys think...just something a friend told me.

i think your friend was talkin out of his a$$. i have never heard of anything like that and no company would base their headlight design off of somethign like that other than the mentioned light diffuser. all headlights are angled the same way, that is, away from blinding any oncoming traffic. regardless of what side of the road.
