Viscosity for 06 Civic

The current generation of Civics uses 0w-20, but my Gen. 8 uses 5w-20
Question: Can I use 0w-20 for better mileage leftover from my 02 Insight?

Re: Viscosity for 06 Civic

Won’t really make a difference. The viscosity stays the same at operating temp where I imagine most, if not all your driving is done.

But to answer your question, yes, you can run 0W-20 in your civic, but it’s always ideal to run whatever the manufacturer suggests.

Re: Viscosity for 06 Civic

I thought I remember Honda saying 0w-20 was okay to run in 2001+ Civics. I could be wrong.

Any fuel efficiency improvements you see will be negligible.
