Hi All,



Got a second hand diesel 1.6 civic tourer, 2014. Been driving it for a few months. The DPF warning light came on recently, I think it was the full exhaust and exclamation mark warning. I continued to drive it for a week or so. Took it to garage who ran diagnostic - problem with oil and blockage in dpf. The oil needed changing and levels were too high, linked to the car trying to regen apparently.

Once oil changed, they tried a forced regen, which didn't work apparently. They said the DPF was too blocked. They said I needed to send it off for cleaning.

Is this true?

Would using Win's DPF cleaner and trying a forced regen by driving down motorway at high revs etc help/work?

Most, if not all, of us regulars are from North America. We never got a diesel version. I don't think we're going to be much help.

Yeah you might be better off on a Diesel forum honestly.

If it is too dirty you will need to manually clean it or replace it. The regen should handle it AFAIK.
