2005 Civic Hybrid not starting
2005 Civic Hybrid not starting
I have been gifted with a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. The starter wasn't engaging to start engine. Removed starter and tested. Seems to work fine on bench. Tried turning engine over with breaker bar and socket on crankshaft. Turns with much effort. Removed all the spark plugs. Didn't make much of a difference. It seems that the electrical end of the engine is binding up. This car had been sitting for about 6 months. I am pretty sure the 144 volt battery is done. The 12 volt battery is new. Any information on possible fix would be greatly appreciated
Re: 2005 Civic Hybrid not starting
Engine partially seized to the point where the starter cannot turn it. Engine will need replaced or fully rebuilt. If 144V battery is bad it also needs replaced. Definitely more cost than the car is worth.
