Stutter on acceleration and VSA light comes on

Hello,
I recently replaced my key cylinder on 2015 Honda Civic. I have not programmed the new key i just use the old key and hold it up to the cylinder to start the car. The problem i am having is that when i begin to accelerate the car starts to stutter and slow down. Also the VSA light comes on and it when i brake it rattles heavily. Is this due to the ignition not being programmed correctly. Some sort of limp mode or safe mode that the car is in. IT starts up fine and idles fine and then it randomly does this stuttering thing on the drive. Please help.
