Dome light circuit question
Dome light circuit question
Was the passenger side of the 1989 Civic DX 3 door cars wired for the dome light? The wiring on this one had considerable rat damage. The passenger side door has the dome light switch but no evidence that a wire was ever there. I've removed the headliner and the side panel and can find nothing. The other wires I've repaired I was able to locate the end where the little beast quit chewing. If it was originally wired, where did it originate from?
Many Thanks

Re: Dome light circuit question
I will double check tomorrow. So far the only switch I've found on the doors is the dome light. At any rate, I'm thinking it extremely odd & unlikely that it was not there from the factory. I'm sure it fell victim to the rats. They did a job on this car. Now I just need to find where it originates from. I've tried chasing the drivers side to no avail. This is a very difficult little car to chase wire in. I did find a schematic for a 90 civic (sedan not the hatchback) but I would think they were very close regarding electrical. It shows the door switch coming from the dome light and completing ground. But it's very evident that's not the case with this car.

Re: Dome light circuit question
See if you can find a manual on ebay. I agree that the sedan should be close enough to work from but who knows
