Hello HI,

I am almost positive that I have a bad Head Gasket, and instead of just doing a repair. I would rather just simply pay for a new engine, with hopefully 0 miles since this engine has 240k. as I would think my internals are almost on its last legs.

Does anyone have any links?
leads?

i do not want a re-manufactured, rebuilt or something overseas with low miles.

can anyone help?

You won't get anything brand new. If you want as close to new as possible, reman'd is all you're going to get.

Car is over 20 years old junk yard engine is your only option besides re-man.

Not too mention a brand new engine from Honda would cost at least double what the car is worth

In response to your edit, I'm not sure what your expectation is. You can't get new engines. Saying you don't want "captain obvious" answers is a bit redundant because that's the only scenario here.

i know its tough to find. If it was easy by any means, i wouldn't have to post up hoping for someone out there across the country to have some sort of lead. I know its wishful thinking on my part, but perhaps someone might have something.

Plus if you don't ask, you will never know.

so yeah, responses of no and reasons of why it doesn't make sense to go this route, or any other than a positive post. Is CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.

You could just have a shop completely overhaul the stock engine. New bearings, rings, seals, valves, etc.

these D17 engines are only sought out as quick replacement engines for cars that lost theirs. And the supply of Japanese cars engines simply covers most of them, there is no commercial reasons to make new engines.

I came hoping to find some expertise on this model and civic generation. Not for the "make calls around town" or try why don't you try "googling it".

We have lots of experience with these cars.

However, asking a question about something specific to your geographical location in a forum with members around the world is not going to work out.

And asking where to buy a brand new engine for a 20 year old economy car is also not going to work out well.
The dealer may be able to get you one, but it's going cost way more than what the car is worth.
That's why people either rebuild, or buy used engines. JDM is a good option because the engines are low mileage.

Great thread guys.
Created this thread hoping to get solid advice, to have someone who can perhaps point me to some good leads somewhere across the country. Instead, captain obvious answers and now some middle school name calling.

Good stuff, now I know why the other poster recommended me asking a different site, since this one is the decline.
No POSSIBLE way due to its amazing members.
