What VTEC solenoid for 2002 EX w/D17A JDM engine, USDM ECU and wire loom?
Hey:
Thanks for the help in advance. I have a used 2002 EX that came with a D17A JDM engine, a USDM ECU and wire loom. Vehicle has a P1259 ODB2 code and CEL. Can't get smogged in NV with CEL. The rebuilder spliced the green/yellow wire to the JDM stock VTEC solenoid but I have the oil pressure sensor plug open on the US wire loom. Can I replace the VTEC solenoid with a standard US 2002 VTEC Solenoid, rewire the other plug that was cut and have a repair that will correct the CEL and ODB2 codes. I have seen several threads in which this was suggested but no reports of a fix after the fact.

For the $10 you'd pay at a junkyard for the parts it's certainly worth trying
