New head and gasket now no oil pressure

Hey all new member here really hoping someone can put me on the right path to solving my problem , picked up a 07 civic in decent shape with a blown head gasket for fairly cheap , machine shop said the head was too far gone so I just went ahead and bought a reman off eBay, exactly the same just had to adjust the valves. We filled her up with oil and gave her a crank and it sounds terrible it's a 1.8 rna head of that matters, also no oil pressure it had oil pressure before . I pulled the filter off and it never got oil in it so it's clearly not circulating my question is could removing and re installing the oil pump cause it not to circulate? Or did I lose a piece of it 😂 I still don't understand how this pump works. Like I said it had oil pressure before and ran fine . What are the chances the pickup tube has got clogged? It only sat for 2 weeks and it was blown on the piston side of the head so the oil and coolant didn't mix. Any ideas ? It's pan or pump and can anybody explain to me how these pumps work? Since there isn't a gear in it? Thanks for any advice or suggestions

Re: New head and gasket now no oil pressure

I'm only familiar with the 7th gen oil pump assembly so forgive me if this info is a little off...

I looked up the replacement oil pump assembly for the 8th gen Civic. It appears the 8th gen uses a timing chain rather than a belt, so the pump is integrated into the timing cover. There are TWO seals between the pump and block that need to be installed. Did you install those?

Also, the pickup tube usually has a gasket or o-ring between it and the block where it attaches to. Did you install the gasket or o-ring?

Lastly, and this is obvious but I must ask, did you fill it up with enough oil?

Re: New head and gasket now no oil pressure

i would be worried if the gasket have a direction and it could have been installed wrongly and obstructing the oil passages...
