Question How to tighten Crank Pulley Bolt w/o Honda Special Tool

Hello guys, first post here!

I have a small but quick question. Is there a way to tighten the crank pulley bolt w/o the special Honda tool? Reason I ask this is because i'm upgrading the stock pulleys for NST lightweight pulleys and I see the crank pulley doesn't have the tool mark to tighten the bolt with the tool. I know you can use an air/electric wrench to tighten it but I don't have a powerful one that goes up to 200+ ft ibs. Any tips on how to tighten the bolt? I have a 2006 Civic EX Sedan AT.

I’d rent one then. Some places should do it for free, if not very cheap. It just makes the job way easier.

Out of curiosity, why are you changing the pulleys?

I'm swapping them out to see if lighter pulleys can give the car a bit more kick to it. I always found the R18 to be a bit laggy for my taste. People have said nothing but good things for the NST pulley kit.

@Chezboat24 it's more the fact that the NST pulleys don't have the hex cutout for the tool. At least none of the pics I saw on their website did. You may have to finagle some sort of spanner to fit in the holes of the pulley itself

I meant rent an air hammer. That should work

I never claimed to be able to read, write, or use context clues.

I also blame my coworker because I definitely got the itis bc she wanted to order breakfast. lol

nevertheless, finagling something to hold the pulley still via the holes is a good backup

Well this suck...... good thing I haven't ordered the pulleys yet. Gonna have to pull this job later and maybe have a shop do the crank one with their air gun. Thanks for the responses everyone!
