2007 civic si smoke pouring out from underhood

last night i was driving when i heard a screeching noise which i have heard before and another noise i havent i cant describe it, but about 5 min later the screeching started again so i found a spot to park the car as im pulling up i smell terrible burning smell maybe rubber or plastic and white smoke coming heavily from under the passenger side of the hood. i opened to hood to find the belt was hot and extremely tight, i recently had the cars ac worked on and i was about to take it back to the guy because at idle you can hear the compressor constantly turning off then on and the cold air isnt consistent, anyway im guessing its the ac compressor is siezed up or at least im hoping thats it, i had to leave the car in the parking lot when i tried to start it again with the ac off the starter could barely turn over as if it was low on juice but its not the battery is brand new like a month old max. anybody got any ideas or suggestions, i was thinking i could cut the belt and drive it home which is like 4 miles or i can get my brother to get a trailer and we can tow it back. let me know if you guys have any ideas where i should look or what could have been damaged. thanks in advance sorry if this is hard to read im typing fast

That's how A/C works. If the compressor were to run constantly the system will freeze.

Remove the belt and try spinning each pulley by hand. Or look at each pulley and find the one with all the rubber shavings on it.

Or one of the pulleys has seized and the starter was struggling to overcome it.

Cut the belt and drive home if you'd like to replace the engine. The water pump is driven off that belt. I wouldn't run the engine more than a minute without a working water pump. Trailer it or work on it in the parking lot.
