Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it ForumIf you've got a problem you just can't figure out, a noise you can't diagnose, or a Check Engine Light that won't go away, ask about it here!
Hi,
I brought my car in to the mechanics for a overheating issue and they had started to hear knocking in the engine. Is there a way to find our what is causing the knocking without taking the motor apart?
that was the first spark plug. there seemed to be oil in the threads of the spark plug. it was the one on the far right side of the 4 spark plugs. the tube leading down to this spark plug was oily. in the other picture its show the tube

this was the second spark plug. the tube leading down to this spark plug was also oily. difference from the first spark plug was that this plug was not oily at all
white is too hot. either temperature or mixture too lean. brownish is more lower temp or closer to where it should be.
Engine did run hot for sure. The worst i have seen was when the electrodes did melt, though. It look like enough to knock, for sure.
there are some ways to check for engine codes for OBDI cars, search for them. Paper clip method?
I had my friends dad come over and look at the car and we found that the throw out bearing was going bad and was making the noise. How long can I go on this bearing because I don't have the time right now to pull the engine and transmission out and fix it. is there a way i can baby it along to make it last longer.
I was looking to get a new clutch while i have the trans out. Below is a picture of the list of clutches on rock auto. Does anyone have any recommendations on which one to choose. Im right now leaning towards LUK 08022 or spend a little more and get the exedy 08022 but idk if i really need it

That bearing is probably worse than the excedy one. Any of the bottom 3 would be a better choice
