Replaced Honda Civic mount but caused more vibration?
Replaced Honda Civic mount but caused more vibration?
Hello I have a 2014 Honda Civic LX that I bought used from a dealership, the front engine mount for the car was shot as I noticed when it’s cold it shakes but when it’s warm it goes away instantly, I bought an engine mount from rock auto called anchor9885 and when my mechanic installed it the car caused way more vibration, I was wondering if it’s because it’s not an oem part? Also compared to the one in my car this one is super stiff and has no give? I was wondering if I should just return the part and get an oem part

Good luck returning it but yes aftermarket mounts are too stiff, especially the cheap ones
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

There will typically be a night and day difference in performance between OEM and aftermarket motor mounts in terms of vibration. The added expense of OEM mounts sucks at first, but well worth it in the long run.
