symptoms: long, hard starting when cold, then when it does seem to pick
up gas it sputters and tries to quit but I can keep pedaling the
gas and it eventually picks up and smooths out

idle is fast even with cable disconnected....timing is correct

what I've done: switched out IACV with another I had, but both could be bad

switched out throttle body w/all sensors (junk yard)

question?? how do I test the IACV?? I unplugged it while @ OT and idle
slowed a little and I heard something activate

OR?? any other ideas??

I have a 95 Civic 1.5 non vtec that recently developed some hard starting issues...at first I thought it was a frozen fuel line (what it acted like)...treated fuel, changed filter, changed fuel pump, changed throttle body with all sensors on it..no luck.......engine cranks longer than normal before it eventually does start, and when it does it acts like its starving for fuel... I can pump the pedal and in a few seconds it will pick up fuel and smooth out....after warmup it idles faster than normal...(would guess around 900 or so RPM)...timing is correct, and throttle cable is adjusted all the way out....ideas??

Is it possible that the fuel injectors could be dirty? A bottle of Techron (or additive if your choice) is a lot cheaper than firing the parts cannon!
