Hey guys,

My Wife reported the check engine light came on and the D had a blinking light. I ran up to Advanced and had them clear the codes and then took it for a ride. The Check engine came on nearly instantly as I drove off.

I went back and this is what they report and Im pretty Confused..

16-1 (R rear wheel speed sensor)
18-1 (L rear wheel speed sensor)
61-1 Battery Voltage malfunction
P0843 Tranny pressure sensor.

So I did verify the tranny had fluid yesterday.

So my question is why are there so many non P codes and do you guys think my problem is related more to a bad ground?

I'm confused too. This is the first time I've seen anyone report getting ABS codes from a parts store scanner.
If you don't have an ABS/TCS/VSA related warning light on, just ignore the codes.

The wheel speed sensor codes can be set by having the front wheels spinning in the air. Very common in a shop setting, there are many reasons we would have the front wheels spinning in the air.
(EDIT: This is speculation, there isn't enough info here as of yet to do much more than guess)

The voltage code sets when the battery voltage gets low, it could have happened at any point in the cars lifespan.

What car do you have, exactly? Year, body, trim, engine, country, etc

P0843 is second clutch pressure switch open circuit or stuck off.
Could be open circuit as in rodent chewed the wire off of it. Investigate closely.
Be certain of which pressure switch you should be inspecting, there is more than one.. On an 06 it's on top of the trans, under the air filter box.

The ABS voltage code could have been set at any time since the last time the ABS computer had its codes erased.

The presence of the voltage code is not significant unless you have a weak battery right now or the code is a problem and continues to reset the same code even after erasing stored memory.

I see old codes in ABS all the time, I ignore most unless there is a related complaint.
I don't always remember to erase codes either, if the warning light isn't on to remind me.
The wire color for the 2nd pressure switch is shown as blue/yellow in the wiring diagram

Replaced that bad boy and I'm good to go.


For others who run into this....

I found it easier to put the front left up on an jack stand and remove the tire. This gave me a bit more access to the sensor as it's a pain to get to.
