New main relay and Fuel pump,No prime,No crank
New main relay and Fuel pump,No prime,No crank
I've noticed this seems to be a common problem on Honda's but mine is just a little different! Well this is whats going on...car just turns over,my Tach don't move,New Fuel pump don't prime,Bought a New Main Relay, test all the wires with Multimeter and test light...I have power 11.5v on all the wires on relay like that should have power except the fuel pump...the fuel pump wire (yellow/green) don't have power even at the pump, until the car eventually cranks...thats another story...if I just leave the key on for like 5-10 minutes, the fuel pump would prime(not all the time but most of the time) then I can crank the car(weired) but if I cut the car off it wont crank back up! but before it really started acting up...when I would turn the key on to crank, the New fuel pump would delay(3-5 seconds) before priming instead of as soon as I turn the key on...I even checked the soilder points on the ignition switch to make sure I was getting all my power as well...im stuck between a rock and a hard place if the ECU is going bad will it even crank at all?...my wife wont me to get rid of the 93 gas saver...but I refuse to... yall help is really needed..i almost forgot I getting Spark from the Spark Plug(pulled off wire put spark plug in wire and had my to turn the car over as I held it to a nut on car)
Re: New main relay and Fuel pump,No prime,No crank
when I say crank... I mean literally running...like I said basically it has a mind of its own! most of the time the Starter just Turns Over without Running! no fuel pump prime, but I do hear the the relay click once when I turn the key into the "On" position...its weired to me...unless all of this is heading towards the ECU....I wonder how to test it to see?
Re: New main relay and Fuel pump,No prime,No crank
alright people,I believe I found the problem...since im off work...I
just took the ECU/COMPUTER out the car and guess what....when I unplugged one of the harness it was moist...im thinking that it was just some kind of grease on the harness until I open the ECU up...I looked where the moist harness was plugged in on the inside and guess what...its brown/rust on the soilder joint! I believe this might be the issue...what do you think?

Just to update my problem...the issue was my ECU/Computer...what I did was when I had the ECU open I used one of my point tools that came with my soldering kit and I was able to lightly scraped the "Surface" rust off the solder joints until I was able to see the silver solder again..I did this every I seen rust...and then I plugged it back up and "WALA"...it fires up every time...no more delay fuel pump prime....so to sum this all up...if someone else ever goes through what I been through check the ECU/Computer for Rust or Moisture! This how I'm feeling right now----->
Re: New main relay and Fuel pump,No prime,No crank
No I don't think the car been under water...we're the 2nd owner and we've had the car since 2003 and It use to be my wife car but now I use it to go back and forward to work...but I do remember her saying years ago when its raining real hard the windshield use to leak a little on the Passenger Side!
