Re: Thoughts on these lights.

Retrofitting a HID projector into your OEM housings is a more reliable option. I was considering those same lights until I went here. Best decision I've made in a while.

Your OEM lights are more durable, more water resistant when resealed correctly, and are aimed correctly. There's a reason a lot of the senior members still use theirs. Quality isn't usually cheap, unfortunately.

Re: Thoughts on these lights.

one of my issues is my light lens cover is faded and deteriorating. Thats why i'm still leaning to the full replacement. I didn't really think $180 on lights was all that cheap, as I never bothered even doing lights on my offroad vehicles as they get broken so much bouncing off rocks and trees and stuff.

Try restoring the lenses with a kit. I think you will be surprised.

+1 to that. BTW, GolNat is the guy who finally convinced me to retrofit. My driver's side lens looks like someone j!zzed superglue on it for some reason, but other than that they are WAY clearer than they were last year before I restored them. I used the Rain-X restore kit.

Huh?

I meant to say if they're adjusted correctly by the honda adjustment screws they still aim badly due to faulty engineering?

Re: Thoughts on these lights.

The retrofit kit? The left side was perfectly aimed from the start but my right headlight is slightly off target <---> because I screwed around with an adjustor before I put it back in; I'm too lazy to take it off and adjust it right now. Depending on the model/year, you should be able to AT LEAST aim up/down once the lights are reinstalled. Did that answer your question?

Re: Thoughts on these lights.

to sum up:

most aftermarket replacement lights with halo angel eyes put very little light and/or in the wrong places.
way better to install projectors that were actually well designed in the stock housing.

ah, most of then will fog when rains.

mine - light sucks and right side fogs.
but my stock ones were beaten, so i put them.
