Yup I got one. (2000 ex coupe stick) suggestions

About three weeks ago I bought a y2k civic coupe stick ex. It has 150k on the odometer I last week I bought hoses, belts, brake pads and they are installed. I did an oil change and I am super pleased with the quality of this car. It runs so strong I'm blown away. I paid $1200 for my car maybe too much maybe too little I don't care I am happy with the car overall. Once I finished with the basic maintenance I began to scour Craig's list for parts. I scored a used set of 17s for 125$ with rubber to replace the stock steelies. This week I found charcoal interior and a set of skunk 2 coilovers for 150$ from my buddies recent wreck. I bought a new touch screen head unit 4 speakers to replace the thirteen year old stock units 170$. I'm not sure if it's obvious but I'm trying to make this car as awesome as I can on the lowest budget possible. This is a daily driver I bought it for the mpg. I'm not planning any power mods but I'm open to whatever. I will post pictures of this build from start to finish if it interests anyone. But please shoot me suggestions on what to do to make this car better than it was showroom in 2000. My total budget is 3000$ tops including the original car so I have to explore the least expensive options and will rely on creativity and others help to achieve my goal. Side note anyone in need of light grey coupe interior parts please pm me as I can't post in the wanted section yet. Anyway pics will be up Monday and I'll warn u ahead of time they will be green and dirty just the way I bought it. I hope to make this a true beginning to end thread.

That's gotta either be 2 different cars, or 'before and after' pics of a drop. LOL

Oh wait, now I see those are from 2 different people?

I believe it's the same car. Car is just not as low in second pic and has more exterior mods. Two different people have it their photo stream (I think). They both look good if it's not the same

Re: Yup I got one. (2000 ex coupe stick) suggestions

Yea I'm not planning on going too nuts with it although the girlfriend already says I'm going overboard but whatever. Bought an si cluster this evening. So add that to the list of parts to be installed or maybe sell it to buy other stuff.

I am planning on rsx front seats and leather wrap the back to match. Looking for a short shift want it really short. Going to leather the door where the window switches are. The arm rest and ebrake all black. I want to sound deaden the interior as well. LEDs in my cluster and my climate control and the overhead lights. A light tint on the windows and that should be it for inside.

That's step one.

Step two is body work. I need a hood trunk and fender I'll be looking to get green cause it's my body color it'll be easier when I go to paint I hope. Thinking oem style fogs. U won't see a spoiler on this car if u do it'll be a little lip but really I like the trunk as it is on the 00 ex.

Looking for strut braces and an intake. That should do it. I'm really jacked about this car tho. I can't believe I didn't buy one sooner. Love the pics of the red coupes. I don't want mine slammed quite that low I live in the mountains of pa so that won't work but it'll get drop a little bit when the coil over go in.

One question I've been looking at shift ***** on ebay. I want a round one perfect sphere I saw three I like under 20$ shipped on is metal billet the other two are made of delrin (a fancy plastic) the two delrin ***** are 44mm and 50mm. They are specifically 10x1.5 not universal so it should be perfect fit but I wondering if anyone has experience with any of these type of products. Figured IDE ask before I buy because it going to constantly be getting used. It'll be black so I'm wondering about scratches as well. Thanks. And thank you for the warm welcome.

Trying to get everything together for my interior and radio should be there by the end of this week or next. I am looking for bulbs called neo wedge bulbs. I need 2 4mm, 2 5mm, 3 3mm neo wedge bulbs I think I want blue as my gauge bulbs are blue as well as some courtesy lights under the seats and dash. These bulbs are for my radio bezel and a few switches. I've read the posts using the led light strips and I just want to try this first so if some one could take pity on me I'd appreciate it lots. I prefer ebay because it's easy and I don't use credit cards second choice would be a walk in store or that carry these. But when I do searches I get choices that I think are wrong and I don't really want to order this stuff twice. On the bright side I have my dark grey interior cleaning it now my buddies and I are ripping the light grey interior out of the civic this weekend. I will be spraying undercoating and quick roof then adding foam. Running the speaker wires and then tossing the new interior. Lots of pics to come.

Parts acquired so far
K code complete charcoal interior
D din head unit by BOSS it's better than stock and cheap
2 5.25 door speakers
2 6x9 back speakers
Wires and fuses and Metra kit
10 x 25 bulb blue strip LEDs for courtesy lights and more
Dual bend shifter
2 roles quick roof hopefully enough for whole car not doing roof yet
1 can undercoating spray
Blue Bulbs for guage cluster

Total expense 412$

I've been selling interior from my car so far I've earned $480 selling pieces on ebay. Total project cost so far is a profit So far so good.

Ok guys I'm almost finished with my interior rehab and I have tons of pics to come but I don't want to show some with out showing it all. I do need some help tho I bought cl heated front seats got the rear also but I need to know how to wire them. They were mint at Harry's and I grabbed them hoping someone with way more knowledge could bail me out. Anyway please let me know I want fully functioning seats. I don't want to just throw them on coupe rails I want the real deal but all the posts I found are swap the seat rails and move on. Let me know thanks.

What are the seats out of?
Find a wire diagram for that cars heated seats first.

Then build a harness (and you should also get all of the switches and wire connectors and as much of the harnesses as you can get from the car that had the seats) and wire it up to yours accordingly.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-ACURA-3-2-CL-TYPE-S-LEFT-DRIVER-FRONT-DOOR-BODY-WIRE-WIRING-HARNESS-OEM-/111284774162?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AAcura%7CModel%3ACL&hash=item19e916e512&vxp=mtr The seats were separated from the vehicle so I don't have any of the harness other than what clips into the seat. I found the link above to a harness on ebay is that what I'm looking for?

Re: Yup I got one. (2000 ex coupe stick) suggestions

Hard to tell, and I don't have access to Acuras info online.

If you can figure out how to wire each seat, then you wouldn't necessarily need the harness from the car. (you still need the switches/controls though, right?)

But (in my mind) using the original harness connectors would simplify things later on if/when it comes time to disconnect and remove the seats for any reason.

Wiring is easy for some people, but tidy harness fabrication can be time consuming.

Are they power seats too?

Yeah 8 way adjustable.... http://cl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=800446 Found this write up

I bought two switches on ebay for the heat. They are from a cl. Should fit the brake surround. The write up looks really straight forward
