weird smell and little bit of smoke
weird smell and little bit of smoke
i recently changed my oil and i got the right oil and oil filter and did everything right to change it but after that for a couple of days off and on there would be a little bit of smoke coming from somewhere underneath the hood but i cant tell from exactly where. Also if i turn the heat on i can smell it being drawn in. Is it just coincidence that its happening at the same time? What could it be thats smoking and why?

Re: weird smell and little bit of smoke
The usual 'oil change related' cause would be oil on the exhaust, and burning off when the pipe gets hot. The filter is right over the exhaust pipe, and the back of the engine can hold quite a bit of oil to dribble as you drive.
Look under the car, see how much oil got dribbled onto the exhaust pipes. See if the pipe is still wet with oil.
Make sure the engine is still full of oil too, make sure it isn't a real leak.
