I have a 1997 Honda DX. my Windows are difficult to roll up and down, to the point where I'm afraid of breaking my plastic window handles. What do you do to clean or lubricate the windows?is my problem with lubrication?

I'd grab just about any silicone spray lubricant first.
Spray it heavily into the vertical rubber channels where the glass has to slide.
Work the window up and down as you spray to distribute the lube.

Tried it, doesn't seem to make a difference. I will also say that the stickiness varies with window height. While I roll the window down, it starts off easy and then gets sticky and then gets easy again.

Look at the front speaker DIY and it will show you how to take the door panel off and then grease the thing the window slides on.

Maybe your regulator is tight in spots, use some white grease on it. I just keep rubber tracks clean it is actually pretty slick on it's own when clean.

I have to eat crow here, and say that the silicone spray lubricant did help my windows stickiness problem. I guess I just needed to wait for the silicon to dry! Thanks ezone

Well, that confirms where the problem lies.. now, what to do about it?

You will probably need to respray whenever the window starts feeling tight again. Most people will do this and live with it, no further work involved.

Next (drastic) step would be to seriously clean the rubber channel seals, or replace them. Years of dirt accumulation is what normally makes the seals drag on the glass.

I think I'll jus spray, the aged plastic pieces might not pop off nicely if I were to take the door panel off.
