as the topic says the top disk of the coilover is bottoming out on the strut without lowering the car more then 1 inch and it is just riding on the frame this way. Solutions?

i had the same problem....i had the r1 coil overs. It happen at the rear on mine, i couldn't even lower the rear more than 1/2 inch and the ride was super bouncy .... all i did was remove the top peice where the spring sits. i let the spring sit directly onto the stock assembly so the shock can fully travel up and down. but these coil overs still sucked a$$, i went with the nuespeed sport springs after words and my car has a perfect drop and has a way smoother ride. hope this helps

Thanks thats exactly the kind of feed back I was looking for I bought r1 coilovers also and the su(k @ss so I am gonna return them and get aero speeds I think. Do not recomend anyone buy these. I even bought the dual springs that my suplier recomended to me.

hey check to see if you have your BUMP STOPS still in there
cuz i had the same problem too, i had somebody do it for me
big mistake but he 4got to put the BUMP STOPS back in... and it did the same thats happening to you

In the directions for my HP coilovers it says to not re-install the bump stops or dust caps!!

ya bumpstops wouldn't make a diff what I think it is, is that I need to lose the top metal plate and just put the stock on back on since it has a hole that lets it move around the shock instead of hitting the top of it
