Replaced all mounts, vibration lingers
Replaced all mounts, vibration lingers
About 3 months ago, had struts and timing belt replaced at a local shop. Mechanic destroyed the left motor mount in the process and replaced it (at my expense, of course). Anyways, needless to say after getting my car back, it vibrated like a ****. I finally got around to replacing the front mount and right transmission mount last weekend. And the rear firewall mount just today. Upon tightening the last bolt, letting the car down, and patting myself on the back for a job well done, I took her for a test drive. While there is definitely an improvement, there is still a vibration that seems to be coming from the left hydraulic mount the shop supposedly replaced. Could that mount have been installed wrong or simply be a shotty part? Do I need to loosen and reset it you think?

You can try "neutralizing" the mounts, it might help.

Still bad? Replace the aftermarket mounts with factory parts.
