Night Lights Issue
Night Lights Issue
So, I have a 2001 Honda Civic (Ex), and it's been acting up on me for almost a year now in terms of the night lights (tail, parking, dash, and license plate lights). At first, the issue was a blown fuse, but lately, I've been able to hear my relay, under the steering wheel, click in an erratic manner. Sometimes the night lights would work and sometimes, it would have trouble starting for X amount of time.
I thought it would've been the relay, but when I switched it for an identical relay, the lights still wouldn't work. All my fuses to those lights (small lights, etc.) are not blown and working properly. Could this be a wiring issue?
I would hope that I can fix it myself instead of needing to take it in to the dealer. I've took the car in twice over the year and out of those times, the lights worked after my car was put back together, and at the dealership, the lights worked just after they took it into the back to check it out. Really stumped on what could cause the issue. Thanks in advance.

You likely have the voltage to the taillight relay coil on WHT/GRN, and are getting the coils grounding via headlight switch. You could have a bad connection from the WHT/GRN leading to the relays contacts. Or after the switched side of the contacts leading to RED/YEL(ext lights) and RED/BLK (dash lights)

Re: Night Lights Issue
That schematic helped me out tons. Where did you find that, and is there other parts that cover the rest of the car?
I was able to pull out the fuse box, but couldn't get into it to check the contacts. I saw a stripped wire (red/blk), so I taped it up before placing the fuse box. My lights work right now, but I still don't have a way to know whether it's a short or it's the contacts. So, I'll let the test of time answer that for me.
Also, I found out that I've had some wires cut prior to me owning the car. One wire going to a 555U timer, and another to my security feature. Are there any schematics that can show me the security and any others that contain a 555 timer?
Thanks in advance.
